  1. HEMC is white or off-white, odourless and tasteless powder
  2.  Dissolubility: It almost does not dissolve in hot water, acetone, ethanol, ethyl ether, and toluene. It dissolves in water and some solvents, such as, the suitable proportion of ethanol/ water, propanol/water. Its aqueous solution provides surface activity and high transparence and stable properties. Various products have different gel temperatures, which is the thermal gel properties of HEMC. Solubility changes with viscosity. Lower the viscosity is, higher the solubility is. Different types of HEMC have different properties. Its dissolution is not subject to PH in water. HEMC can dissolve in cold water but not dissolve in hot water. It does not dissolve in most organic solvents. The surface treated HEMC disperses in water without agglomeration. Its dissolution speed is a little slow. But it can dissolve quickly when PH is adjusted to 8~10.
  3. PH stabilization: Viscosity varies a little at the range of PH 2~12. Viscosity decreases when PH exceeds this range.
  4. Particle size ≥ 99% through 80 mesh , 100% through 60 mesh
  5.  Apparent density: 0.30~0.60g/cm 3
  6. HEMC has the properties of thickening, suspending, dispersing, bonding, emulsifying, film-forming, water retention. Its water retention ability is better than that of MC. Its viscosity stability, anti-enzyme, dispersing abilities are better than those of HEC.
